It was a bittersweet feeling when I woke up this morning. The beginning of the end of my time here in SF (at least for now) has begun- at UCSF, as a member of Afinkao Dance Company, as an SF resident, and as an US resident, for that matter!
I want to send a HUGE thank you out to Emelie and Kevin of Yemaya Salsa, and Rodney and Isidra who helped me out with my fundraiser this weekend in Sacramento. There was a great turn-out and it was a lot of fun to see old friends and see that Yemaya is still doing it's part to hold up the Salsa community in Sac-town!
This Thursday my fabulous co-workers/friends have put together a little going-away/fundraiser night here in SF. I am definitely leaving this job with mixed feelings! I am ready for the change and new challenge, but I am truly sad to leave the friends I have made here. I am certain that these people will continue to be a part of my life.
My countdown:
-Orientation with the Catholic Medical Mission Board next week in New Jersey where we'll meet past volunteers, visit the headquarters of CMMB, and go out to dinner in NYC.
- Long weekend in Portland to visit my home away from home. :)
- One week with my parents, saying good-bye to the childhood home and helping my parents pack up their life for their big move
